My laptop actually got fixed last week, but I enjoyed having a little blogging hiatus. I have the extended warranty, so a tech came out and took apart my laptop, replaced the motherboard (because the integrated video card fried) and all was well. I didn't even end up with any spare parts. Sweet!
Now the blogging will return to it's regularly unscheduled program.

The Next Step in Minimalism

After clearing out large quantities of "stuff" from your life and getting down to the quality essentials you really need (and not what you want, or more accurately, think you want) you will notice a feeling of great freedom and much better focus. Any house/room/office/car with less distractions in it will allow for an enhanced level of thinking. So the next logical step in maximizing this positive result would be minimalism of the mind. Clear your mind from the clutter of constant information. TV, internet, email, newspapers, magazines, and text messages can all clutter our minds. Try not paying attention to any news media for 1 week. You'll be amazed how much more focused and how irrelevant all those things you paid attention to in the past really were.
