Being A Good Neighbor

A while back I bought the Duracell Powerpack 300 which is a portable AC power unit, jumpstarter, air compressor, AND it has an LED flashlight (Wow!). I bought it mainly because I needed an air compressor to fill up the tires of my car & scooter and in case Nanci left her car's dome light on again. :P

After returning home from church today, I pull into my cul-de-sac to find my neighbor across the street with two cars face-to-face and their hoods open (basically the universal sign of a jump start). After pulling into my garage and hearing the dead car trying to start. *RrrrrrRrrrrClick* I decided to be a good neighbor and offer my assistance. Plus I REALLY wanted to try out my new toy since I had only ever used the air compressor (okay, I tried out the LED flashlight too).

So I went over to the dead car with the Powerpack in hand and proceeded to hookup the + and - terminals, the green status light told me it was hooked up correctly *phew*, I then flipped the On switch and safety switch, and *RrrrrrRrrrrRrrrrVrooooooom*! I was a hero and it turns out I didn't end up with a novelty gadget.

Note: The word "samaritan" was never used. "Neighbor", on the other hand was used. If you can't call yourself a "good neighbor" for doing a good deed then I guess State Farm needs to change their trademark. :P
