Doubled-Up Weekend

Sunday afternoon my girlfriend called me up and asked if I had eaten lunch? It was already 2PM but I hadn't yet, so she suggested we go to Red Robin since her dad gave us a gift card. That sounded like a good idea. Then she came up with the GREAT idea to ride my scooter over to pick her up and we could ride doubled up to the mall.

So we rode to the mall and in between feeling like we were almost going to tip over whenever we leaned into a turn, to only being able go about 33MPH and having cars that were RIGHT behind us...It was totally a BLAST! The day was perfect for riding too, nice and warm with a cool breeze. As we rode around the mall parking lot to find a space we received a few funny looks. But I know they were just jealous. :P After we found a spot we went into RR and each had a delicious burger & fries. Then we walked around the mall for a bit to burn it off. Haha

But how it this for perfect timing? My scooter was running on empty Friday so the last thing I did on the way home was fill it up. But more importantly I was very low on oil and didn't have any left at home. That Sunday about an hour before she called, I had just bought some oil and filled up my scooter. If I hadn't done those things we wouldn't have been able to have the fun adventure we did. Plus with the gift card providing a free meal, everything just lined up perfectly, as they tend to do for us!

Weekend To Do List

Since I hadn't been home before 9PM for the past week there were quite a few things I had put off. So because I had this Friday off, rather than lounge around on my laptop, like any extra day off. I decided to create a list of things to get done.

Here's the list:

  • Breakfast
  • (What...I wrote down something easy to get the ball rolling.)
  • Clean Room
  • (Not too difficult since I have a pretty minimalistic room. I spent most of my time folding laundry.)
  • Clean Bathroom
  • (Again, pretty simple because there isn't too much stuff, although I did clean the mirrors and sink too.)
  • Clean Desk
  • (I went through lots of piled up paperwork and mail. Why can't I get digital copies of everything yet?)
  • Organize Car
  • (Went through the glovebox and console and organized the various paperwork, gift cards and coupons.)
  • Laundry
  • (The only thing that didn't get washed I was wearing.)
  • Yard Work
  • (Mowed the lawn with my new cordless electric mower, it's much easier on the ears.)
  • Reply to Emails
  • (It was more of a reminder because I didn't feel like replying late Thursday night.)
  • Grocery Shop
  • (Wow, did I fill my pantry or what. I went shopping on an empty stomach so I bought enough food to last a couple months.)

So I accomplished quite a lot this weekend, thanks to making a list and staying away from my laptop as much as possible...except to blog. ;)

    Congratulations Rory & Kristi

There must be something about 2008??? Is it because of the Olympics? Or perhaps because it's an election year? For some reason everyone is getting married. This is the 4th wedding I have attended this year.

The reception was held at the Carmel Mountain Ridge Country Club. It had a very nice open dining room, and the DJ ("Bobby Bouchea") was definitely lots of fun.

    Here are a few pictures.

Their first dance as Mr. & Mrs. Cochran

A game of musical chairs scavenger hunt

Why doesn't anyone smash cake in their faces anymore?

The girls fought for the bouquet so hard it disintegrated!

Rory getting ready to snap the garter

We don't need a dance floor to get down, dancing by the table is fine too

A picture with the lovely married couple. Congratulations!

The rest of the weekend was lots of fun too. We spent the night at Nanci's best friend Cristina's house and went to the beach the next day. Then we hurried home for game night with Jonathan, Jenna, and Stephanie.

The guys won 15 out of the 17 games we played, but the girls said they were the winners because they won the very last game. How can you even call it the finals if you never made it past the semi-finals? hehe J/K Good game everyone! It was definitely an exciting non-stop weekend.
