I only asked Santa for 2 things this Christmas since I didn't really want to introduce more "stuff" into my life. A crock pot so that I can slowly transition away from cooking everything in the microwave. And the Black & Decker Electric Lawncare Center so I can maintain my yard while being "Green" (double pun intended).
I asked for the lawn tools because I really enjoy doing yard work. I like that it is a form of exercise that is actually productive. I get the health benefits of exercise while actually accomplishing something, so I end up feeling good both physically and mentally. I find it quite therapeutic really. These new tools certainly make my job easier and give even better results.
Considering that when I moved into my house the lawn was 90% weeds or dead, there has been a huge improvement over the last 8 months. I would say the lawn has grown back to 85% of the yard. This winter season should kill off the rest of the low lying weeds and by the end of next spring I should be back to 100%.

The lighting of the "After" picture isn't that great because this time of year the sun is always behind the house. But you should still be able to see a pretty big difference.
